If you’re like most Americans, you open Apple News or Google News on your phone every morning expecting a fair snapshot of the day’s biggest stories. But that’s not what’s happening. These apps block anything that cuts against their left‑wing worldview, especially with the midterms looming, including damaging coverage of Democratic candidates.

Case in point: For six months — 7,200 curated stories in their “Top 20” feeds — the news apps didn’t feature a single negative story about scandal-ridden, Nazi-tattooed Democrat Graham Platner. Zero. Meanwhile, MRC easily found more than a hundred pieces from right-leaning outlets covering Platner’s mess in detail. Google and Apple couldn’t be bothered. 

And now, our latest special report shows the news apps have shifted that protective shield to another hard-core leftist, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

Last night on Sinclair’s National News Desk, I laid out the numbers myself.

As I told Geoff Harris, between November 2025 and July 2026, “Apple and Google effectively shielded El‑Sayed from negative press, keeping over 100 stories off its top morning feeds.” And it wasn’t just conservative reporting. I said, “Those stories that were percolating on left‑leaning outlets — 16 of which we could count — we didn’t find a single promotion of any of those stories.”

The controversies are real. El‑Sayed has campaigned alongside radical‑left streamer Hasan Piker; he’s backed policies like “Medicare for All,” abolishing ICE, and defunding the police, and even compared Oklahoma’s ban on Sharia law to the “Trail of Tears.” These stories existed; they just never reached the millions of Americans who rely on these apps for their morning news.

And that’s the point I made on National News Desk: “Most Americans don’t search dozens of news websites every day. They open Apple News or Google News and read what’s presented to them. That makes editorial decisions enormously consequential, especially when those decisions consistently favor one candidate over another.”

Time and again, Google and Apple cherry‑pick from elitist left‑wing news sources. We can prove it, and we have. And when a narrative threatens one of their preferred candidates, they bury it across the board. And we just proved that, too. 

Americans deserve the full story, not the one Big Tech curates for them.
