The Watchdog with David Bozell
Every day at the Media Research Center, we expose the lies, bias, and censorship of leftist media. Few examples capture the problem better than the way the media cover the health of presidents.
President Trump announced he was heading to Walter Reed this week for a routine checkup. Predictably, the media immediately shifted into “questions are being raised” mode.
You know the routine.
CNN panels. Cable chyrons. Concerned nodding. Endless segments about “mounting questions” and “growing scrutiny.” And of course, nobody ever owns the accusation. The media never say they are pushing the narrative. They merely report that the narrative exists somewhere out there in the atmosphere, like humidity.
Our MRC video compilation highlighted the contrast between how the media cover Trump’s health versus how they covered Joe Biden’s obvious decline while he was president.
“There are new questions surrounding the president’s health.”
“This physical brings back concerns.”
“There’s growing talk about the state of the president’s health.”
“Lawmakers and doctors want more transparency.”
Notice the pattern. Anonymous concern. Vague suspicion. Passive language carefully designed to sound organic.
But who exactly is raising the concerns?
Usually the people sitting under studio lighting discussing the concerns for six uninterrupted minutes.
Americans watched the media spend years dismissing obvious signs of Biden’s decline as “cheapfakes,” partisan attacks, or right-wing conspiracy theories. Now many of the same people suddenly want forensic-level analysis of Trump walking onto Marine One.
The difference is simple.
Biden’s decline was visible. The media protected him anyway.
Trump’s supposed decline is a storyline in search of evidence.
Americans know the difference, which is why trust in the elitist media ecosystem continues to collapse.
And it is why the work you support at MRC matters more than ever.
Take it easy,
David Bozell
