For nearly five decades, PBS and NPR have brazenly subverted their charter’s call for objectivity, pushing a leftist agenda with contempt for the American taxpayers funding their propaganda. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving pair — they’ve finally received their comeuppance. Congressional Republicans have delivered a decisive blow, cutting their taxpayer lifeline — in a word: defunded. That’s $1.1 billion now freed for better use.
The Media Research Center led the charge, and without a doubt, our 38-year-long fight, combined with relentless research and advocacy on Capitol Hill, secured this victory. MRC never wavered—exposing and combating the far-left, anti-American bias permeating PBS and NPR. Our determination turned the impossible into reality, proving the power of truth and the resolve of our patriotic supporters.
Importantly, we secured this win because leaders and allies trust MRC’s unassailable research, never once credibly challenged by the Left, who would relish our failure — we are a 24/7 thorn in their side.
We salute President Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, Senator John Thune, and OMB Director Russ Vought for their critical support in making this triumph possible.
But the fight is not over. We must stand together to stop Congress from funding PBS and NPR in next year’s appropriations bill. States should not provide grants to any local PBS or NPR station that simply replays national broadcasts.
