The Watchdog with David Bozell
Chris Plante says it best: “The media have the power to ignore.” And they use that power with intent.
Bias by omission is their stealth fighter. Silent. Precise. Whatever keeps the public in the dark. When a story threatens the left, it vanishes. When a story reflects well on conservatives, it vanishes just as fast.
That’s a big part of our mission: not just to dissect the media’s lies, spin, and propaganda, but to expose what they leave on the cutting room floor.
And the latest example is a case study. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has a record that would trigger nonstop scrutiny if the “D” after his name didn’t act like a protective media force field, including his affair with suspected Chinese spy Fang Fang.
Now he’s running for governor of California and facing fresh allegations involving questionable campaign spending on personal legal fees, plus claims of inappropriate conduct with female staffers. Serious stuff. The kind that, if the letter after his name were “R,” would be leading every newscast, complete with wall-to-wall panels and faux outrage.
Spoiler alert: ABC, CBS, and NBC gave the story zero seconds. Not even a brief mention.
The blackout fits the pattern. California’s massive hospice‑fraud scandal got the same treatment. Different story, same instinct: protect the political class that aligns with their worldview.
Bias by omission and election interference move together. Everything the media do — everything — is designed to tilt the playing field. Shield the left. Undercut the right. Shape the environment before voters ever see a ballot.
That’s why your support matters. The MRC brings these stories to light. We make sure the American people see the full picture.
Thank you for helping us press forward.
Take it easy,
