Trust in the media has cratered from roughly 80 percent when we started in 1987 to single digits today. Americans have had enough of the advocacy, the slant, and the narrative-pushing. 

They are turning elsewhere, and who can blame them?

Our studies show Trump coverage routinely runs 90 to 100 percent negative. After the second assassination attempt, ABC, CBS, and NBC were still at 95 percent negative. The drumbeat never stops: “Hitler.” “Authoritarian.” “Threat to democracy.” Even Jimmy Kimmel’s “joke” about Melania becoming an “expectant widow” crossed into open contempt.

President Trump himself regularly quotes our findings. He knows exactly how dangerous these hostile headwinds have become.

The message from voters is unmistakable: The media is poisoning the well. And they are rejecting it.
