The Watchdog with David Bozell
A brand-new Gallup survey just confirmed what we at the Media Research Center have been documenting for years: trust in television news has cratered to just 14 percent. Think about that. Barely one in ten Americans believes what the networks peddle as “news.” Only Congress scores lower. That’s how far the media have fallen.
A Nice Reminder: I had the opportunity to join Scott Jennings’ show yesterday to discuss MRC’s latest investigation into Apple News and Google News. Before we wrapped up, Scott said something that meant a great deal to me:
“David, we are grateful for your work. You’ve seen what the MRC can do through its different platforms: NewsBusters, Free Speech America, MRC Video. For people like me, what you do is invaluable. We’re grateful for your time and your research and the information you provide to our audiences.”
Those kind words really belong to you. Every study we publish, every investigation we conduct, every appearance we make, and every platform we’ve built exists because faithful supporters like you make it possible. Thank you for equipping MRC to provide the facts that journalists, commentators, policymakers, and millions of Americans rely on every day.
Worth the Watch: MRC’s Brittany Hughes’ latest viral Instagram video perfectly exposes one of Hollywood’s biggest double standards. Studios have no problem reimagining Homer’s The Odyssey with race-swapped casting, but the very same people would call it outrageous to cast a white actress as Moana. Why? Because in today’s Hollywood, the rules seem to depend on whose story is being told. Brittany brilliantly unpacks the hypocrisy in just a few minutes, and we’re proud she’s on the MRC team asking the questions so few in the entertainment industry are willing to answer. Give it a watch, then share it with a friend.
Take it easy,
David Bozell
