Candidates don’t usually go to the spin room after presidential debates, but Donald Trump had some MRC research he wanted to discuss.

Asked about the brazenly biased conduct of ABC’s moderators, Trump said he wasn’t surprised. “It was three against one,” the former president said. Trump said he wasn’t shocked because “I saw on your show last night they had 100% positive coverage on ABC. And I had 94% negative coverage.”

Hannity interjected. He knew Trump was talking about an MRC study that found these moderators were the most biased against Trump of anyone who could’ve been chosen from broadcast TV news. “93,” Hannity said, correcting Trump with the number our research found. “It was 93% negative.”

“I exaggerated,” Trump said with a smile.

MRC’s study, which drew 4.3 million impressions and was widely shared by media influencers and outlets, looked at 100 campaign stories that appeared on ABC’s World News Tonight from the day Harris entered the race until Sept. 6. The analysis found 25 clearly positive statements about Harris from reporters, anchors, voters or other non-partisan sources and zero negative statements — for a perfect 100% positive spin rating.
