For nearly 40 years, the Media Research Center has documented left-wing bias in the media with unmatched discipline and scale. Our findings have been irrefutable and never successfully challenged. That work paid off. Public trust in the media has collapsed to a historic low of 28%. The elitist press lost its authority because it was exposed, repeatedly and unmistakably. That victory belongs to us.
After the 2024 election, Sean Hannity declared, “The liberal media is dead.” In one sense, he was right. Broadcast ratings have cratered since 2021: ABC down 10%, CBS 12%, NBC 23%, MSNBC 40%, and CNN 47%. Only Fox News has grown, up 13%.
Viewers, especially younger Americans, are abandoning scheduled television altogether.
But the fight is not over. The media did not disappear. It relocated. Today, 86% of U.S. adults get their news from smartphones, computers, or tablets. Influence no longer flows primarily through television towers. It now runs through digital news apps that quietly determine which stories and viewpoints reach tens of millions of Americans each day.
