The President's Report: A Year to Remember

As we close out the year, I wanted to reach out personally and reflect on what we’ve accomplished together at the Media Research Center. It has been one of the most significant periods in our organization’s history, and your commitment played a real part in that.

For nearly four decades, the MRC has worked to end the forced subsidizing of public broadcasting. This year, that work finally paid off. Congress voted to end federal funding for NPR and PBS, and the president signed it into law. For us, the fight wasn’t about budgets; it was about principle. Taxpayers should not be required to underwrite media organizations that long ago abandoned any pretense of neutrality. This is a generational win, and I am grateful you’ve stood with us throughout the long road to get here.

We also continued our work exposing the broader media ecosystem, including the culture that shapes it. Our analysis of late-night programming — showing the ideological lockout of conservative voices — gained national attention and contributed to major changes in the industry. When lies and absurdities spread about the shooting of Charlie Kirk, our rapid response helped ensure the truth reached millions.
