Bravo's Kathy Griffin tells 'The View' Co-Host Hasselbeck to 'Suck It'

Kathy Griffin recently proved that she is a “D-list” comedian.

Bravo's “My Life on the D-List” star made headlines in the Huffington Post and E! online after telling "View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck to “suck it” in response to Hasselbeck's “scum” rebuke.

Griffin's comment came after Hasselbeck recently criticized the Bravo star for Griffin jokingly said her show that Massachusett's Sen. Scott Brown's two daughters are prostitutes. Hasselbeck said, “You defend your daughters against scum who comes after them and calls them something like a prostitute.”

Griffin told E! that her Brown joke was based on his post-election statement about his two daughters being “available.” She mentioned that Washington media jumped on the comment and referred to Brown as a “pimp.”

Even fellow “View” co-host Joy Behar, who has regularly criticized sexism in the media, defended Griffin, telling Hasselbeck not to take the comment seriously. “I know my daughter's not a prostitute, so it'd be funny,” Behar said. “It's just a joke.”

But Brown certainly didn't think the joke was funny. He told Politico's Ben Smith that “families are off limits” and that both Griffin and Bravo should be “ashamed of themselves.”
