The Media Research Center has been the nation’s premiere media watchdog since 1987. We exist to put a check on the Left’s monopoly of mass information, and to make sure that, despite the efforts of the self-described “gatekeepers of knowledge”, the Truth still finds its way into American homes.
As identified throughout years of research and analysis, the MRC clearly demonstrates a liberal bias in many news outlets- bias by commission and bias by omission- that results in a frequent double-standard in editorial decisions on what constitutes “news”.
The MRC runs seven core programs – our News Analysis Division, MRC Business, MRC Culture, NewsBusters, CNSNews.com, MRCTV and MRC Latino; these programs have ascended the MRC reputation as the largest and most sophisticated media research and analysis organization in the world.
At a national level, we are beginning to see signs of positive change. In 1987, less than 25 percent of Americans recognized the media’s liberal bias. Today, nearly 9 in 10 Americans recognize media bias! According to a recent Harvard University survey, only 12 percent of younger Americans said they trusted the news media to do the right thing.
